Dr John Madden

John graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1997. He worked at Launceston General Hospital with rotations in Accident and Emergency, plastic surgery and general medicine.
He then went on to working at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, New South Wales, furthering his experience in emergency medicine, orthopaedic surgery and general medicine, including oncology. He returned to Tasmania in 2000 to the Royal Hobart Hospital working in psychiatry, paediatrics, general medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology.
He has been working at Grosvenor Street General Practice since 2010 and has an interest in managing short term health problems as well as more chronic health conditions. He is currently kept very busy with a young family, but is involved in the Mount Mawson Ski Club and enjoys bushwalking, music and travelling in his spare time.

Ken graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1986. He has worked in General Practice in Melbourne since 1990. He has been consulting at Grosvenor and Collins Street General Practice since 2011.
He lives with his partner and her two children here in Hobart, and visits his mother and his three young adult children in Melbourne every second week. His hobbies include collecting Australian Football Memorabilia, trivia nights, and karaoke.

Ben grew up in Launceston before completing his medical degree in Hobart in 2001. He then worked in Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory before completing his General Practice training (GP) and a diploma in Child Health in Adelaide.
His interests include, Mens’ Health, Paediatrics, General Medicine and Mental Health and well being. Ben returned to Tasmania in 2016 with his partner and three young children. Outside of work he enjoys travel, gardening and bush
walking.

Sam is our new GP registrar. He has had a lot of experience in medicine before coming to general practice. He is now enjoying working as a generalist and is keen to assist patients with any and all medical needs. Sam has worked as a specialist in infectious diseases and is expert in the diagnosis and management of all infectious conditions. He also has an interest in helping people manage addictions to drugs and alcohol and has worked in specialised areas within this field. Sam has a young family and lives locally, and has diverse interests outside of Medicine.
